All that was left in its place was scorched earth and a few walls.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We cleared the ground and started the masonry. Several organisations joined us, along with dozens of people who got to work, each with whatever they could give.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">By December, two months after the fire, the house was under a roof.
