The first place we went was the Siret border crossing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">People came on foot, a bag in one hand and a child in the other. The queue stretched for hundreds of metres, at any hour of the day or night. Many had slept in a car or on a coach.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We brought water, hot food, clothes and hygiene products. We helped carry luggage and get people onto the coaches. Those who could not walk were carried by the firefighters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Some we went with further, to host families, into homes in Romania.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That year we distributed over 120 tonnes of essential goods, through our network of partners.
