In October 2024, cyclone Boris passed over the villages of Galați county. Of the Lungu family's house, in Cudalbi, nothing was left but a heap covered with a tarpaulin.
We chose a timber-frame build, which goes up fast: in November the walls were standing, by the end of the month the roof was on. Volunteers carried the timber by hand, piece by piece, off the lorry bed.
For months the family slept in a container. In February 2025, the stoves were burning in a house of their own.
