In October 2024, cyclone Boris passed over Galați county. 3,700 houses were damaged.
We went first to see what was missing. Then, through our partners, we brought a lorry of aid: clothes, bed linen, duvets, pillows and bicycles. We took them to Cudalbi, to Corni and to Valea Mărului.
We unloaded box by box, from the lorry into the village store. People from the village came to help.
At the same time we donated full sets of firefighting equipment to the volunteer services of Valea Mărului and Corni, as well as to the one in Vama.
35 volunteers worked on it, 5,800 kilometres were covered and 3,500 people received help.
At Cudalbi we stayed longer. That is where, in the months that followed, we built the Lungu family's house.
