A donation is, by its nature, final — you are not buying anything and there is nothing to return. But mistakes happen, and when they do we put them right.
When we refund
- You got the amount wrong. You meant 50 and sent 500.
- The payment went through twice. Whether through your mistake or the system's.
- Your card was used without your consent.
- You changed your mind. If you tell us quickly and the money has not been spent yet.
How to ask
Write to contact@reliefandtrustsociety.org or call +40 743 995 680. Tell us the date, the amount and how you paid. If you have the confirmation e-mail, attach it.
Deadline: 30 days from the date of the donation. After that we will still look at your request, but the money may already have been spent.
How soon you get the money back
We reply within 5 working days at the most. If the refund is justified, the money goes out within 14 days of our confirmation, by the same route it came — back to the card or to the account the transfer was made from.
We keep nothing back from the refunded amount. If the payment processor keeps a fee of its own, we will tell you beforehand.
When we cannot refund
- When the money has already been spent on materials or on a service for a beneficiary. In that case we will explain what it went on and look for a solution together.
- When the donation was the subject of a sponsorship contract that has already been registered and deducted for tax.
- When we cannot verify the identity of the person asking for the refund.
If you suspect fraud
If someone has used your card without permission, tell your bank first — it can block and recover faster than we can. Tell us as well, at the same time, and we will work with the bank or with the processor.
Monthly donations
A monthly donation can be stopped at any time, with no explanation and no cost. If you set it up as a standing order, stop it from your banking app. If you give monthly by card, stop it using the link in your confirmation e-mail or by writing to us at contact@reliefandtrustsociety.org. Once stopped, nothing more is taken from the following month.
